Give it to God
It’s the middle of July and the weatherman says this week is going to be a HOT ONE! I remember when I was a kid it was nothing to play 3 or 4 baseball games in 100 degree temps. Now-a-days it’s hard to just walk to the truck in 100 degrees!
I woke up this morning to NO internet service. I immediately started worrying about all the things I needed the internet for this morning. I’ve got so much to get done, this can’t be happening today. After a few minutes of stressing, I remembered a conversation I had yesterday with some dear friends of mine. We talked about how anxiety and stress can get such a hold on us, it can almost get us to shut down. I’ve been to that point more than once. I’ve allowed anxiety to put me in what my wife calls “A Funk.” Well, my time with friends yesterday reminded me that God is in control. He is bigger than anything we face, and He is in control of all that is happening around us. So why would I be stressed?
1 Corinthians 7:1 says, “God has called you to peace.”
Joshua 1:9 says, “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
So, as I poured a second cup of coffee this morning, I shut my laptop and opened back up my Bible. I am so glad He has me and I am so glad I have HIM! Have a blessed and stress-free week friends. Let go of your anxiety and worries and grab a hold of Him. He’s got something in store for you this week. And…drink lots of water!
