Recognize the Blessings
Well, after months of our 5-year-old begging for a puppy…… we finally caved in! Melissa, Hope, and I took a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend and picked up her new puppy. What pure joy and excitement she had on her face when she saw that puppy. She named him Salvy (yep after her favorite Royal) What a blessing it was to see the pure joy inside of our daughter this weekend.
Speaking of blessings………
Today Melissa and myself are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. Many of you have heard me speak of the struggles and challenges I faced in the early years of my adult life. My fight with addictions and my tendency to make bad choices over and over had led me to an empty life. The biggest blessing of my life came when Melissa stepped into my world. The past 14 years have been the best years of my life. We have been through many ups and downs together and I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side. Melissa has by far been the biggest blessing of my life and I am so thankful God brought her to me.
So, as I sip my coffee this morning my thought is this……. Are you seeing the blessings in your life and are you thankful for them? Or are you too busy with day to day stuff or too overwhelmed with life to see them? Is it time to hit the pause button and look around at how richly God has blessed you?
Today I am starting the “The Carlie Challenge.” #thecarliechallenge
For more information on it check out “The Carlie Challenge” on Facebook. For the next 30 days, I will be journaling what I am thankful for. I am excited for this and can’t wait to put some thought each day into the blessings God has brought to me!
“Sometimes all you need to do is stop and realize all the blessings God has given you.” --Carlie Almond
I pray each of you can see all the blessings in your life and are thankful for them. Don’t let life get to crazy and cluttered that you can’t see God’s touches in your life. He brings Joy and excitement to you each and every day. Breath them in and smile.
