Reflections of 9/11

9/11 ……… So many memories and thoughts that go with this date!

I think back and remember how sad I was as I watched it unfold on the television. So many lives were changed on that day. So much pain and sorrow. My heart hurt so bad for our country and our world.

As I sit here this morning, drinking my coffee, my heart still hurts for our country and our world. Our country changed so much in the past 16 years, and most of it is bad change. Our country fights over so many issues and we have so many things dividing us. Rally’s become riots. And there is such a loss of respect for authority. It seems like we keep moving further and further into a ME society. 16 years later and I’m sad again. What happened to caring for each other? What happened to our country that came together 16 years ago, on the worst day?

Psalm 34:17 says, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Nahum 1:7 says, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those that trust in Him.”

James 5:13 says, “Are any among you suffering? They should keep praying about it. And those that have reason to be thankful should continually sing praises to the Lord.”

As believers, we must keep praying for our Country, for our communities, for our brothers and sisters. We must stand strong during times of disasters and turmoil. So many in this world don’t know the TRUTH. They haven’t been taught the gospel and led to the Lord. They see nothing but strife.

As you reflect today on what happened 16 years ago today, look ahead and decide to make a difference somewhere. Don’t let up on being a disciple maker. Now is a very important time for someone out there, and God might be leading you to directly them.

“But you, up on your feet and get dressed for work. Stand up and say your piece. Say exactly what I tell you to say. Don’t pull your punches or I’ll pull you out of the lineup.” Jeremiah 1:17 (The Message)

God Bless America!
