The Unknown

The Unknown

The unknown that the future holds can be one of the most stressful aspects of life.  Whether it be a health issue, family situation, career doubt, etc…the worries of what tomorrow might hold can be paralyzing if we allow it to be.  What causes all the stress and worry?  Why don’t we embrace the present?  Learn to live, laugh and love right where we are and right where we are planted.  Each day God pours blessings into our lives, and so many times we miss out on them because we are either dwelling on the past, or stressed and worried about the future.

Living in the past, and worrying about the future is Satan’s way of keeping us from enjoying the path that God places us on each and every day.  Satan knows that by forcing us to focus on something we can’t change (the past) and having us worry about something that is yet to come (the future) he is able to take our minds and hearts off the plan that God has put in place for us.

What can we do to combat this?  How can we remain focused on the blessings and path God has us on, even though the storm is brewing around us?  Plain and simple—have faith!!  God has made it very clear that His plan is sovereign and He will reign supreme in our lives IF we allow Him to.  There is a consistency about God and Jesus Christ that we will NEVER find anywhere else.  It can’t be found in our health, our jobs, our families or anything else we come across on a daily basis...that peace, that joy, that consistency can only be found at the foot of the Cross.

Hebrews13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same, Yesterday, Today and Forever

What an amazing verse that should bring unbelievable peace to our hearts and minds.  Knowing that the man who came to DIE for all of us, and bear our sins on his shoulders, loves us more than anything; is also the consistency and rock that we can look toward every day.  Now, don’t get me is normal to worry, it is normal to stress about things that are out of our control (I am as guilty of it as anyone at times) but if we can begin to place that stress and worry at the foot of the cross and allow the solid rock of Jesus Christ to take control, what an amazing peace of mind we will achieve and enjoy.  When we are always trying to be in control, we rob ourselves of amazing blessings God can have in our lives.
