Just over a week ago, we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, after he paid a debt on the cross that we could never repay. The question is: where do we go from here? Do we limit the celebration of Christ’s resurrection to one Sunday in the Spring, or do we seek to celebrate what Christ has done for us and through us each and every day. What is our daily response to God’s Grace and Christ’s Love?
Romans 12:2 says, “And, so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
The words of Paul is a challenge to our daily lives, we are to sacrifice ourselves each day to God because of ALL He has done for us. This is a daily response, not just a response on Easter Sunday. It is the charge and call of all Christ Followers to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus each day. The Grace and Mercy shown on the Cross is what saved us from our sins and what we should live for everyday.
