Chet Kueffer serves as the FCA Area Director for Greater Lawrence and Topeka. Some of Chet’s earliest memories were shaped by watching how sports could build character, forge family, and open hearts to the gospel of Jesus Christ. His father, a track coach at the University of Kansas, showed him what true coaching looked like—Sunday lunches after church rarely passed without one of his dad’s athletes sitting at the family table.
“Billy Graham said, ‘A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.’ I got to see that lived out right in front of me,” Chet recalls. “It gave me a passion for sports and faith.”
Chet ran his own races at Baldwin High School, lettering in both cross country and track, before earning a degree in Communications at the University of Kansas. Since then, he has walked both professional and ministry paths, finding ways to coach, mentor, and inspire along the way.
He and his wife Elizabeth enjoy music, cheering on the Jayhawks and the Chiefs, and snowboarding.
